I often see in peds neurology notes where a provider reviews a video taken by the parent of the child having what is a suspected seizure. The provider does state that the video was taken by the parent, what they observe the patient doing in the video as well their findings on reviewing the video, so they are using this video as part of their assessment to determine whether to do additional testing or what type of testing. The question would be can this be counted as part of the data outside of independent historian? Independent historian is usually already met based on information documented that the parent gave them outside of the video itself.
I'm leaning towards "no" since "unique tests" are those defined by a CPT code and there isn't a CPT code for parent videos.
Any suggestions/recommendations?
