debridment and application of silver nitrate to a surgical wound done in office. billable????

yes, in the global no description of instrument used only that he excise ischemic tissue of subcutaneous soft tissue. states combo of chemical cauterization and blunt debridement. no infection. good healing base of wound

This service cannot be billed at least by any Medicare MAC or carrier that follows MCR global rules. ALL care is inclusive in the global period except when the patient goes to the OR.

I would be really hesitant about billing for a commercial carrier unless the was documentation of a postop complication by the provider. They are getting care for services in the postop period and medical necessity needs to really justify an additional E&M service.
