If pt's have large deductible plans that doctor is contracted with, can the provider's office ask the patient to pay up front a position of the office visit? example: every time pt is seen, they have to pay 100 dollars up front.

I don't see why not. When I used to work at a DME office, that's how we would do everything. All monies due were due at the time of service. The only thing you need to make sure you do is check their deductibles/co-pays/co-insurance before they come in, so you aren't charging them when they shouldn't have to pay.

Most payers will let you collect the full contracted amount of the visit up front for patients that have deductibles. I heard some wont let you but i don't have any examples.
