Hi! Is there a specific age at which it is no longer appropriate to use 783.42? I am seeing information here and there that leads me to believe 6 years would be the upper limit. Anyone have a solid answer?

Hi medihedgie,

Referring to the ICD 9 book for dx 783.42 I see it has an Age Symbol with "P" with is Pediatric Age: 0-17. These diagnoses are intended for children and the patient's age must be between 0 and 17 years.
Hopefully this helps,
