I am having a hard time finding a code for a 'delayed primary closure, right lower extremity, fasciotomy incisions'.
the surgery was done 7 days prior to the closures. the surgery was a open thromboembolization. -
the end of the op rpt states:
"the groin incision was closed in layers using 2-0 vicryl suture & monocryl. the fasciotomy incisions were left open followed by occlusive dressings."
so what code do i use when the dr. goes back 7 days later & does a 'delayed primary closure'. this is in the global period, but i still have to charge out the closure. the wounds were not infected. they were irrigated with saline & then stapled. that's it, done. i found a code for a secondary closure, cpt 13160. but the description doesn't seem to fit what the dr. did.
does anyone have any ideas?
