Hello,

I have a billed 37236 with 36252 with Dx: I70.1. Medicare has denied 37236 for needing a different Dx. I have been researching and checked the LCD and I don't have the proper dx to add with I70.1. The patient does have I10 and is medication for the hypertension. I am just trying to figure out how to get this paid. Anyone having the same issue ? Or Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Kayla

Who is your Medicare Administrative Contractor? I was having some difficulty with 37236 and codes for aneurysms in the lower extremities based on a change to an LCD from Novitas, but hadn't seen denials related to arteriosclerosis of the renal arteries with this code. If you can provide your MAC, I am happy to take a look at the documentation and see if I can assist further.

I use to have denials but since I started using - I70.211 for right
I70.212 for left
I70.213 for b/l
for 37224, 37226, 37221, 37236 so far its working
