Help!!!!! We have started getting denials back from bcbs for CPT code 27217 when billed with 27216 stating as invalid procedure code. I found out that bcbs no longer allows these codes to be billed as bilateral but I can't find any information on why they aren't accepting CPT code 27217.
 
You must use the 'G' Codes. G0412=27215 G0413=27216 G0414=27217 G0415=27218.
These codes are for unilateral or bilateral procedures.
