Does anyone have any direction or documentation supporting that CPT code 31623 is now bundling with the other bronchoscopy codes? Beginning in January, we have started getting denials for 31623 as being inclusive to 31628 and 31629 when last year it wasn't. I've searched the NCCI edits and it is not listed, and when I check it through my coding software, I do not get any edits either. Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

I'm also seeing denials for the same issue

CPT 31623 with 31628 OR 31629 will not cause an edit when you run them through your scrubber. But following CPT guidelines, a diagnostic code is bundled with a surgery code by the same physician especially if it is in the same area. If the washing or brushing was performed in a separate area or lobe than the biopsy or FNA then you can code them with a correct modifier. I'm also getting a lot of pushback regarding the multiple procedure reducing rule that the physicians say should allow them to code these procedures regardless of site. If anyone has more info or clarity in this matter, I would definitely appreciate it.
