Additionally, what is the doctor's rationale for ordering a bone scan for MGUS? And typically you have a bone density exam for osteoporosis, not a whole body bone scan. In my world, bone scans are usually done to evaluate for bone metastasis. I'd be looking hard at the visit note where the decision was made to order the exam to look for medical necessity.
