We are starting to do the PHQ9 depression screening for our patients 12 and up. What is the correct code for this? I thought it was 92127, but one of the doctors said it was a G code.

Thank you for your help!

The G code is for Medicare. We use 96160 for our pediatric depression screenings (PHQ9)

CPT 96127 is utilized for the depression screening example - PHQ9, and 96160 is utilized for risk assessment as per CRAFFT, AUDIT, BSTAD, S2BI, and DAST-20. Please let me know if I am incorrect.
