HELP !!!

I code for a Urologist, who will go in before the General Surgeon and place a stent to "mark" the ureter, so that it does not get cut accidentally. This is often done when the patient is diagnosed with diverticulitis.

No, there is no other diagnosis that can be used; I have reviewed and gleaned other physician's notes including the surgeon.

Is there a "V" code?

I am open to all advice.

Thanks to all!

option - just a suggestion

Hi,
I was looking at your question and based on what I read the only reason the stent is placed is to aid the surgeon accidentally cutting it.
May I suggest V53.6 for Fitting & Adjustment of Urinary device. It is being placed in the ureter. This can be just for the placement of the stent.
