Hi,
Two questions:
We saw a patient with an avulsion type laceration on his leg measuring 8 cm on the medial aspect and 6 cm on the lateral aspect with a transverse dimension of 6.5cm at the base.

This was a complex repair as he had to sharply debrided to viable tissue.

How do I determine the total length of the repair?

Thank You
Marci, CPC

Hello,
You would add the lengths together. Per the AAPC "repaired wounds must be measured and reported in centimeters".
If its complex repair, code selection is 13100-13160...
