Hi, does someone know if these cpts for device checks can be billed as inpatient? 93279-93284 and 93288-93291.

What kind of device are you talking about?

Pacemaker, my physicians will sometimes bill cpt 93280 and its inpatient but sometimes it seems to get denied. My supervisor said that 93280 can't be billed as inpatient and I want to make sure that is correct.

From Z-health publishing, "In a face-to-face setting, do use 93288 when an instrument is used to retrieve the device's stored and measured data on the lead(s), battery, pulse generator function, and patient rhythm and heart rate information." You can give 93288 a try. I could not find anything as 93280 could not be billed.

We do bill 93279-93284 for inpatients and receiving payments.
Hope you are appending modifier 26 as these are for inpatients....
