What ICD10 diagnosis code(s) do you use for a diabetic patient who is no longer clinically diabetic, post gastrectomy?
 
Hi, the way that i have always understood it is that diabetes never goes away, there is no "cure" for diabetes, but you can reverse diabetes with diabetes that is controlled. Like, if the patient is taking care of themselves and the glucose levels have returned to normal than I would still code the DM code with the post gastrectomy status code, insulin status code if they take insulin.
