Hello all. I need help on which dx would be best for the following scenario. Pt has cut to foot & now has diabetic foot infection. Nothing specific as to what type of infection such as Cellulitis, gangrene, Osteomyelitis, etc. Would dx 250.80 & 686.9 be sufficient for this scenario or any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Is it possible to have the physician's word for word documentation for this? It will be helpful. I do not agree with the 892.x code but I am not sure I agree with the 686.9 either. Seeing how it is documented in the note will be very helpful.
