Our clinic is starting a diabetic group visits. The patients will see a NP one on one then a group session will convene discussing and counseling about diabetes.

Is this an E/m code or is there a specific code for a group setting I should use. My research keeps going back to 99213-99214.

Is there a modifier attached?

Any input would be greatly appreciated.

I'd look at E/M 99401-99429 (Counseling Risk Factor Reduction and Behavior Change Intervention) especially the section on Preventative Medicine, Group Counseling (99411-99412)
