Good afternoon all,

We are receiving denials for NICU services under diagnosis codes 760-779 after day 28. It states in the ICD-9 book that this code set should only be used from birth through day 28. However, the providers disagree that if conditions ARISE from birth to day 28 we should still be able to code from this code set.

Any advice on this dilemma?
