Does anybody know the difference between 182.0 and 182.8. The following is the dictation from the physician.

Pathology from surgery is reveiwed and is as follows: Uterus, bilateral adnexa, total hysterectomy and bilateral salpingo-oophorectomy: High grade serous adenocarcinoma of endometrium; full thickness myometrial invasion; approximately 36% cervical stromal invasion; lymph-vascular space invasion is present; adenomyosis; atrophic left and right ovaries; unremarkable left and right fallopian tubes. Right pelvic lymph nodes, excision: Metastatic carcinoma in one of ten lymph nodes.

So with this, would you code 182.0 or 182.8???

Please help???

It is a rare form of the Endometrial cancer ; affects the post menpausal age group and with presentation of Post menopausal bleeding.
It is a cancer originating necessarily from the ENDOMETRIUM of the uterus- ie, the lining of the uterine cavity of the BODY of the uterus. Then it starts invading myometrium , cervix of the uterus and so on.

So the code description of the 182.0 ( ENDOMETRIUM, Corpus UTERI would be the ideal one
