Coding for a patient that is coming to an inpatient rehab. They had Cervical DDD, Cervical Arthropathy, Cervical stenosis and radiculopathy and had surgery at the acute care hospital. Looks like a Cervical discectomy and bilateral foraminotomy was performed along with cervical fusion with spanning plate fixation. Our primary DX is Z47.89-Encounter for other ortho aftercare. But would I also list the Cervical DDD, Cervical Arthropathy, Cervical stenosis and radiculopathy? Or is that considered resolved from the surgery?

HI Carebears
Put the treating dx first on claim then dx Z47. 89 last if want to get paid properly.
I hope this helps you
