When the radiologist states degenerative changes, for example in a knee x-ray or a hip x-ray report, is it appropriate to use the osteoarthrosis diagnosis codes 715.95 or 715.96?
 
I think you would use 715.98 because 715.95 states, pelvic region AND thigh. I wouldn't consider lower leg to be knee. Is it a joint disease? If so then I think you are in the right category. Otherwise, I would use 733.90. Hope this helps!
