Hello....

Our internal medicine doctor is looking for a code to bill for diagnostic infrared thermography. Here is a brief description of what he wants to do.

"...I am talking about infrared thermography.
In other words, what you looked up is the code for infra red when used for treatment (cpt code 97026).
I am talking about infra red when used as a diagnostic tool:
As infrared is emitted as heat, it can be used to determine vascularization of feet (for example).
it can also be used to check for muscle spasm in the low back (muscles or areas that are spastic will generate heat)...."

Is anyone doing this or can anyone advise on a code for this?

Thanks!!

Terry
