I have a patient who had diagnostic medial branch blocks in June of 2018, with 80-85% improvement, followed up by the RFA a few months later. It has been 18 months since they had their last injection. Do they need to repeat the diagnostic blocks again or can we repeat the therapeutic RFA without doing the MBB? Location and laterality are the same, insurance is Medicare. I've checked the policy and I think that we are ok, but I am getting some push back. I do not want to make the patient have an unnecessary procedure.
