We routinely do Carotid Doppler's and Vertebral readings on patients with carotid stenosis. The two codes we have been using are 93880 & 76880. My billing manager is now questioning the 76880 as the book states it's for an extremity. Here is an example of the report..."review of the study demonstrates there is antegrade bilateral vertebral blood flow with no hemodynamically significant stenosis present..."it goes on to say "Diffuse cartoid plaquing is present by gray scale and color flow bilaterally with an internal to common cartoid artery ratio of 2.7 on the right and of 2.4 on the left suggesting 60-80% stenosis, which is confimed by color flow"

Are these two codes appropriate to use together?

Thanks for your help in advance.
