Billing DIEP Flaps - two surgeons - was using 19364 for each breast - per documentation - per further review/discussion - wondering if modifiers 50/62 more appropriate (each surgeon operates on a breast/performs dissection/artery/vein for each breast) - any help/discussion would be greatly appreciated. Many thanks.
 
Many/Many thanks for you response - concerned about dictation - not sure it supports 50/62 - as of now - each surgeon indicates each breast - dissection??
 
I would have one surgeon code 19364 - LT, and the other surgeon code 19364-RT.
They are each doing a separate procedure, and each should have a separate op note.
