I work in a skilled nursing home facility and our staff urologist was performing a cystoscopy on one of our residents who became agitated during the procedure therefore the urologist stopped the procedure. I billed this with a 53 modifier, but Medicare denied it. Does anyone have any ideas on why it was denied? Thanks for your input.
