How would you bill a counseling with pt and parent re the gardisil vacine, there was no exam no history vaccination was not given on this date.
I was thinking about a low level e/m but with no history or exam would this be appropriate?

In this case the provider can use time as the controlling factor.
Just make sure it's documented properly.

Preventive Medicine counseling codes. 99401-99404. "Preventive Medicine Counseling and risk factor reduction interventions vary w/age and should address such issues as family problems,....sexual practices" this is what the intro paragraph states in the CPT book. 99401 is for 15 min, 402 for up to 30 mins, 403 for up to 45, and 404 for up to 60 mins. Hope this helps!:)
