ICD 9 CM code for 'disorientation'

We can code either 319 or 307.9. Disorientation is lack of orientation to place, time and person etc. which is mostly related to intellectual abilities. Thus, 319 is correct in that way. But it may be safer to code 307.9 - Other and unspecified special symptoms or syndromes, NEC.
