I am receiving a denial from united Health Care for HCPCS code E1399 NU amount is 8130.00. They are denying stating HCPCS code is inconsistent with the NU modifier. I checked the Medicare regs and according to them devices over a certain dollar amount do not need the Nu modifier. Has anyone come across this? We use the NU modifier for all our purchased devices except for replacement pads, electrodes, etc.
