I have a doctor who is rather lazy in signing his charts and selecting charges. He recently informed me that when he was going through some of his charts from August he realized that he entered an order for an ultrasound on 8/28 (and I billed it out with that date) but the ultrasound was actually done on 8/10. The insurance company has already paid. Do I need to submit a corrected claim because of the inaccurate date?

Thank you.

Some insurance carriers like Medicare will allow you to file reopening request over the phone, if the only thing that is different is the date of service then you can correct it over the phone
