The doctors here do not always dictate on the same day a test such as holter monitor, ekg, etc are done. Sometimes they are done a few days later. Do I charge the reading of the test on the date read or the date the test was done? Is it different for Commercial and Medicare?

Thanks.

I have always used the date the test was done. No different really than an office note or surgery, if the provider does not dictate until the next day or a later date, you still bill the date the service actually took place.
