I'm trying to find the Thread on regarding the multiple bx during an EGD/colonoscopy but I can't find it. Does anyone remember where that was? I've got an EGD w/ BX in the gastric antrum, esophagus and duoedenum bulb. Can I bill for all of them w/ 59 on the last 2?
 
Hi Adrianne - you can only bill for one biopsy - 43239 (states single or multiple). If your doctor removed a polyp and did a biopsy of another lesion, you can code 43250 and 43239-59.
