does the type of polyp matter?

I was recently asked this question and did not have an answer..... Does it matter what type of polyp - hyperplastic vs adenomatous - to warrant the V12.72 diagnosis? I could not find any documentation stating if the V12.72 was specific to what type of polyp was biopsied. any thoughts???
 
V12.72 does not specify the type of polyp present in the patient's history. So I would not think that whether the polyp is adenomatous or hyperplastic would make a difference in this case.
