I need help with billing a drainage of a sigmoid abscess. The patient had a lap chole, and there was a diverticular abscess. He dr drained it. Can i bill it? Or do i only bill the lap chole? If i can bill it do i use the unlisted code? I have attachec a copy of the op note, any help would be appreciated

It would seem that, because the original procedure doesn't include draining an abscess, it would be appropriate to add the unlisted code as an additional procedure.
