Drainage of abscess at the with suction device

Can someone please help? Our physician was doing a D&C. As he dilated the uterus, copious amounts of pus came out. He placed a Yankauer suction device at the cervical os and massaged the abdomen and pelvis until no more pus came out (300 cc was removed).
