Dr Report:
Patient's previous wound Vac dressing was removed. He has had an extensive debridement. Wound Vac had been placed intraoperatively. It was removed and there was noted to still be necrotic muscle present within the wound bed. Decision was made the patient needed to be returned to surgery for more complete debridement prior to replacing wound VAC. The wound itself was packed with saline moist gauze and coverd with heavy drainage packs. The patient will be reevaluated for wound Vac dressing after debridement has been completed.
My question is..... do I code( 97605 -53)Wound Vac - Discontinued Service
or
Something else.? Cant code 15852 - Dressing change under anesthesia
No mention use of anesthesia.
Any ideas, thoughts would be greatly appreciated
