Is there a coding rule of identifying readmit inpatient hospital stay within 3 days of prior discharge combine stays to code as 1 DRG?
Looking for coding guidance to comply with Medicare billing rule for 3 day interrupted stay. If return after discharge by midnight of 3rd consecutive day this is considered 1 admission with 1 payment.
