Does anyone have any experience with billing dry needleing(trigger point) for physical therapy? I am getting some mix information and I want to make sure that for one I can bill to insurance and which codes I should really use if a therapist is doing the service:confused:

One of the first steps will be to check your scope of practice, as it would be outside the scope of practice in CA for a Chiroprator to pierce the skin. As such, they could not perform dry needling. Also, since there is not a specific CPT code for this serivce, an unlisted code would need to be used.
