Can anyone share some insight? Will the DSM-5 codes need to be changed to the ICD-10? :confused:
 
DSM5 is not a HIPAA-mandated code set. Mental health practitioners can use DSM5 for internal purposes, but all claims must be billed using ICD-10-CM.
 
I provide training sessions in our Facility for our LCSW's and Psychiatrists on properly documenting Behavioral Health codes and DSM5 codes. Feel free to email me with any questions that you may have.
