If a patient has a dual chamber device, but the rep only checks one lead do we bill out single chamber device or dual chamber device for an office check?

You would still bill for the dual chamber because that is device the patient has even if only one lead is checked. If there is information otherwise, please post so I can make note. Thanks!

I agree with Julie, code device checks based on the type of system the patient has in place, not based on the number of leads checked.

The only other information that the clinical staff had to give me was sometimes they turn off a lead because that part of the heart is functioning well on its own for now, but it's there if it needs to be turned back on.
