Can we assign a dx code for S/P Fall? :confused:
 
If the patient presented with an injury or complaint due to a fall or status post falling, you would code the injury or complaint/symptom as primary (ex. 824.8 Unspecified, closed fracture of ankle or 719.46 - Pain of joint - knee) & then code an E-code secondary to decribe the fall (ex. E881.0 - Fall from ladder). Hope that helps!:)

ER encounter: Cheif complaint "fell off changing table" Clinical impression: 1. otitis Media, perforated eardrum, and s/p fall about 3 feet normal exam
