o.k. here is an easy one- or so I thought! I cannot find a dx code for normal test results after a Myocardial perfusion test-78452. we have the patient come back in the office one week later to give them their results even if the result is normal. there is always a few codes to add- htn, cad and so on... but I would like to attach a dx code that states the reason for the visit. The dx code for the abnormal results would be - 794.30

do you mean- it has to be the primary dx? ex: v71.7 , 414.01 if I am looking for possible CAD?

Thank you so much for your help w/this!!!!!!!!!

You would not code the cad if not found only the V71.7 along with symptoms. To code both is a mutually exclusive scenario you cannot have cardiovascular disease not found with CAD. But you cannot use the V71 codes until the study results show not found.
