Bladder Tumor

Depends on type of tumor. Best place to start is the neoplasm table and verify in the tabular. Also needs to be specified by site within the bladder if known.

A tumor is a new growth( neoplasm), That has not yet been classified by pathology as benign or malignant. So when you see a diagnosis of bladder tumor then go to the neoplasm table and look under bladder then go to unspecified. Because that is what it is, a neoplasm that at this time is unspecified.

D41.4 is incorrect without a path report. Neoplasm of uncertain behavior is a diagnosis rendered after a review of a specimen under a microscope. YOu would use the code for Neoplasm unspecified.

Thanks for the info..helps to clarify for someone who has been self taught w/ urology coding
