Hello, hope someone can help us. Pt came in for labs and I am looking for a dx for "family history of HARS"

I haven't come across this before and I did find some info Histidyl-tRNA synthetase (HARS) also known as histidine-tRNA ligase, is an enzyme which in humans is encoded by the HARS gene.[5][ but when I asked a few coders here at the office, I got a couple different answers so I really want to make sure I code the correct code on the pt account. I even called the ordering physician's office and left a message. Any help is appreciated!!

Hi,

An enzyme is not a diagnosis. I've been coding genetics for several years and will be happy to try to help once you've gotten clarification from the provider.
