I am looking to see if anyone can help me with this question.
When you have a procedure note but there is no dx on the note itself. Can you use a dx for a different note either on the same day or the next date of service on the professional billing side?
 
no you cannot use a diagnosis from another day. I you have an office note and a procedure note form the same encounter you can use that. However if these are separate encounters then no. The procedure note needs to have the reason for the procedure or the findings indicated. What kind of procedure are you looking at?
