A nephrology group wants to sent pts to us pre dialysis for CXR's, they are not able to have the pt have a TB skin test so they will be sending for CXR's. What would be the most appropriate dx in billing out these CXR's?

Thanks:-)

I think the best you can do for this is V74.1. If the claims are denied regularly you might try having the provider write up a letter explaining why they cannot do the skin test for these patients.
You can also use the renal diagnosis for a secondary code. Not sure if that helps or not??

I would assume the pt also has ESRD and that is why they are having dialysis. I would also code that with 585.6-confim DX with Dr ordering test. That would explain why test is done by x-ray and not skin.I would do v74.1 then 585.6 once I confirmed the ESRD dx.
