What would be an appropriate E-code for a patient who has a finger injury that was caused by bending finger back while playing basketball with no known fall?

Thanks for any help.
 
Oops...

* E007.6 should be used in conjunction with another code describing the accident, which would be E917.0, I believe...sorry :o
 
Finger injury

I have used 959.5 for a finger injury, along with the above E codes. If the doc says it was sprained, then you could look at the 842 diagnosis series, such as 842.13 for sprain of IP joint.
