Documentation:
Greater than 60 minutes was spent on today's visit including review of multiple outside records, appropriate physical examination, review of today's testing with the patient and her husband, discussion of options for further evaluation, ordering of testing and documentation of this visit.

The testing referred to was separately reported/billed by the group. Can the time spent reviewing/discussing the results be included in the time for the E&M level?

Thanks,
Hunter Smith, CPC

Hi there, you can count the time spent on review/discussion of the tests. You cannot count any time spent performing the tests.

Yep. The guidelines clearly list what is and is not included in time.
