Regarding billing for the technical component of reading x-rays done at other facilities, it occurred to me that one of the new E&M points was review of tests from outside sources, which may exclude the use of the modifier for reading them. Thoughts?

This question is worded oddly leading to confusion on my behalf. You could not bill for the technical component for reading x-rays from other facilities, you could possibly bill for the PROFESSIONAL component.
My understanding is if you are in fact reading and interpreting films, you would report it separately with -26, therefore you may not count that toward data since you are already being paid for the service by reporting it separately.
