Can you charge an E&M for an I&D Wound cleaning and packing if the Doctor is not the one who performed the I&D and is not in the same practice and it is in the global period?:confused:
 
An I&D is pretty straightforward.... What services are you providing? Was there a complication? I have to assume there was a complication since the patient has returned....
 
Global period applies ONLY to the one who performed the original sx

The global period applies ONLY to the provider who performed the original procedure (or his/her colleagues in the same specialty AND same practice).

The global period applies ONLY to E/M services, not to additional/related procedures.
