E/M code for Medicare patient; Hospital Outpatient Observation Consultant

For medicare patient, we report inpatient consultations using an Initial Hospital Care Code (99221-99223) for initial observation and a Subsequent Hospital care code (99231-99233) for subsequent visits.

What codes do we report for initial outpatient observation hospital care consultations and subsequent outpatient observation care for Medicare patient?

If the Dr isn't the one admitting to OBS then we use the 99202-99205 codes for the first visit. If the Dr is admitting to OBS then we use the 99218-99220 codes. For the hospital OBS follow ups we use the OBS codes 99224-99226.
